Hi, Amy – It’s 3/2/10 and I’m not sure I am onto your new Website. But, if we are in touch, Marjorie and I would like two spots in the Cynthia Bringle Workshop if two spots are still available. We’ll send you the two checks for $100 if the spaces are available. Thanks! Fred for Marjorie and me.

    Hi Amy:
Just returned from Bay Area. Too much overwhelming stuff at home to come today. Just need to pick up clay and shut down for the summer. I will try to see you tomorrow.

Hello, I am experienced in ceramics and I’m interested in a membership. Because of my job, I live in the mountains two weeks out of the month. Yes, live! Is it possible for the fees to be negotiable for the membership, being that I could only use the studio two weeks out of the month?

    Hi Amy,

Just interested in a piece of pottery which i didnt know i had. It is a small (8″) shallow bowl with Pottery West fired into the bottom. I am not sure where it came from but wondered if i took a picture could you tell me if it is from your studios? I am not sure how it got here, up in Canada but it would be fun to know its origins. Thanks, William

  5. Amy says:

    Amy;

A friend of mine named Lenny is going to Las Vegas soon and I suggested to him that he look you up. He is owner of Ceramic Servies in Ontario CA. (near Pomona) He and his partner Kenny have been making Kilns of quality for many years and have contacts that go in many directions. I told him how well your pottery is going and suggested that he look at it, as he is beginning to offer studio and kiln space for those of us down here. I know you will treat him well and I just wanted to introduce him to you. Hope you are happy and well.

    please contact me @ ivanvonveac7@hotmail.com
    thanks Stephen

  9. Amy says:

    Hi Stephan,

We charge $250 to stay on-site for the week and have unlimited use of the pottery studio. We have 5 classes that meet each week and 5 instructors. Let me know what dates you would like to come out and if you have anything specific in your clay work you would like to focus on improving. You can contact me directly at amy@potterywest.com

  11. Kristina says:

    Hello,

I have never been to your facility and would love to visit. Could you let me know how the registration for the workshops is handled especially if I would have to cancel since I live out of state.

    Thank you and best regards
    Kristina

  12. Amy says:

    Hi Kristina,
A 50% deposit holds your place in a workshop. You can cancel and receive a full refund 30 days prior to the date of the workshop. This gives us time to (hopefully) fill the space. Since our workshop fees are based very closely to what we pay the guest artist it is difficult to issue any refunds any closer to the workshop date.

  13. Rene says:

Hi Amy. I am sending my second check for the August Tom Coleman workshop. I am interested in the on-site semi-private lodging. You mention it is $50 a night, but else where on this site I see that it is $250 a week. Would that price apply to this week long workshop?

    Thanks,
    Rene

  14. Amy says:

Hi Rene, The price for on-site lodging is higher when we have a workshop on-site. There is one space available. Let me know if you are interested in reserving it.

    Hi Amy:
Please sign me up for the Broadnax and Ellis Workshop. Seeing as how we will be spending a week of our vacation in Las Vegas, I was wondering if you are going to have any other events like a soda or wood firing. It will be good to see the studio again. Do you have room on the property to let me park an RV? Hope to hear from you soon.

Wow what a great studio! If you are ever looking for some one from out side of your area to come out and do a workshop I would love to do it! I know tom and elaine from way back in my Kansas City days. I primarily soda fire to cone 6. I’m going to try and attach some images/link to a show i’m having with Jason Bohnert from Flagstaff. Would be fantastic to do a workshop with him, team teach! Any way love your studio and please keep me in mind! https://www.crimsonlaurelgallery.com/shop/exhibits/south-by-southwest/

  25. Amy says:

Hi Dennis, My kiln is so large it takes 3 days just to cool. The turn-around is too close to load, fire and cool. It’s a 5 day cycle at best. Hope you’re able to get them fired.

  26. barbara werner says:

    Hey Amy:

We are finally getting settled here in Sparks. It is such a beautiful place but I really miss you guys like crazy and will plan a trip yearly to visit and use the studio. I have a question: I ordered a wheel and am trying to decide on an electric kiln. I think I have narrowed my kiln choice to a Skutt or the L&L. Would you suggest a small or medium kiln for me and do you have a preference for the Skutt or L&L kiln?

    Thanks a bunch.

    Miss you
    Barbara
    Barbara

  27. Amy says:

Hi Barbra, we miss you, too!!!
Both kilns are a great kiln. I prefer L&L. But, Skutt is excellent, too.
It just depends on how much work you plan to make. You might get a smaller one? You can get the work through a little quicker and always fire it 2 times if you need to. Our kiln is too big which is why it takes so long to fire it. Something to consider.
Please give our best to Jerry and give each other hugs from all of us!
    Amy

  28. barbara werner says:

Thanks Amy. Tell everyone hello. Will probably try to come next Feb for hopefully a week.
